Anna Alecia Hall, Forever 12

Anna Alecia Hall arrived for her journey on earth on
November, 27th 1991. She took flight on Sunday May 9, 2004,
heading straight for heaven. Alecia had been diagnosed with
"one of the good kinds of" cancer in September 2003.
While her time on earth was far too short, the impact
of those 12 beautiful years is far-reaching,
and long-lasting ~forever.
Alecia has so many talents and interests- dogs, horses,
music, writing, reading, volleyball, nature and the outdoors,
and anything creative just to name a few.
One of Alecia’s greatest passions is animals. She especially
loved her loyal companion- a cute, cuddly, Pomeranian
named Sassy. Alecia dreamed of becoming a veteranarian,
and planned to volunteer at the Hogle Zoo as soon as
she was better.
One of the pictures on this page is of Alecia with the kitten
(Chahi) she received for her 12th birthday. This was the last
birthday Alecia will spend with us on earth. Alecia would have preferred another dog, which we planned to get when she was cancer-free. We
compromised on the kitten.
The weekend before Alecia went in for the horrific and miserable
"life-saving" Bone Marrow Transplant- our last attempt to be
free of cancer- we went to an animal shelter in a Utah mall.
Alecia fell in love with a beautiful brown eyed black lab at the
animal shelter. Her name was Summer. And we talked about
adopting her, or a similar dog, when Alecia was cancer-free.
We hoped. We believed. We had faith. We did not know, could
never have imagined that she would only become cancer-free
by going to heaven.
So much passion and potential were left unfilled on earth because
the beast, known as cancer, took Alecia’s too short life. She was, and
undoubtedly still is a very intelligent young lady. Alecia earned straight A’s through out her 6+ years in public education.
She was selected to attend Casper College's KEY program for exceptional youth the summer before she was diagnosed. Alecia spent a week in July, 2003 on the Casper College campus, sharing a dorm room, and learning all kinds of neat stuff- journalism, French, acting. She had such a GREAT TIME!
Alecia's favorite subjects on earth were history and English. We are looking forward to learning all about her favorite subjects in heaven-someday.
Alecia is a wonderfully creative and artistic girl who I have no doubt still loves music, and dancing. She took dance lessons from the time she was 3. Alecia also played the flute, piano, and was just startingguitar lessons when she relapsed in February 2004. Alecia took great pleasure from writing and making music, and also choreographing dances. She is surely dancing and making beautiful music in heaven.
Unselfish, kind-hearted to the core, and so thoughtful, Alecia's greatest dream was to help those less fortunte. She always thought of others before herself. Make your Mark is that dream. She thought of Make Your Mark, started planning, and raising money for it 3 months before cancer invaded her life.
Alecia made the most of her days here and never gave up hope. She continually inspired us with her amazing strength, patience and bravery. Through it all, Alecia never lost her sweet spirit and kind hearted nature. She endured so much and never complained.
Alecia taught us a lot in the time she was here. The two things she would want us all to remember are:
1) Life is short— take nothing for granted, enjoy and appreciate every moment. In other words- live, love, learn, and laugh often.
2) Kindness matters! We hope that you will continue Alecia’s love, life, and sweet spirit by practicing random acts of kindness in her memory. Sprinkle Alecia’s genuine kindness throughout your communities with your good deeds. Continue to make this world a better place because she was here. Make YOUR Mark!
We have no doubt Alecia is accomplishing many wonderful things in heaven. We miss her deeply.
You’ll be in our hearts- ALWAYS !!
We look forward to seeing you again…someday!
Romance fails us and so do friendships,
but the relationship of
parent and child,
less noisy than all others,
remains
indelible and indestructible,
the strongest relationship
on earth (and heaven)
