It is the mission of Make Your Mark to remember Alecia
-- to continue her dream, and her kindness by supporting youth,
raising awareness, and creating smiles.
PROJECTS:
MAKE YOUR MARK AFTER SCHOOL SERVICE CLUB:
A club where middle school age students discover ways
to make their marks through service to others. We provided
a place to meet, and supported youth who wanted to make their
marks through simple acts of kindness service projects.
BACK TO SCHOOL PROJECT:
Alecia’s Make Your Mark Foundation and Youth Opportunities
Unlimited teamed up to provide assistance to children who needed help buying back to school items, such as clothing, shoes, supplies.Families who need assistance are able to fill out an application, and based on need, receive assistance with purchasing school clothes and/or supplies.
Thanks to the generous donations of BP, Barber Brothers Ford, and R&R Enterprises our first year Make Your Mark helped 18 children. We helped another 19 children in our second year, and 30 children in our third year!
RELAY FOR LIFE:
Make Your Mark participates annually in Evanston Wyoming's Relay for Life. Our team theme and our purpose-- Remembering the Angels. Cancer is not all about survival- there are angels-- they need to be recognized and remembered too. A few years ago Alecia's dad, Brad, was invited to fly in from Chicago and tell Alecia's story. He did a beautiful job, and many who otherwise might not have, will remember Alecia, as a result of his heartfelt presentation.

This is a step in our goal of raising public education regarding the beast known as childhood cancer
HORSE THERAPY SCHOLARSHIP:
Alecia's Make Your Mark funded a scholarship for horse therapy with Bear River Easy Riders.
Other projects under consideration:
*After school service club
*Birthday assistance
1.) Make Your Mark Foundation held a fundraiser dance in September, 2003 at Evanston Middle School. We also planted a tree in Alecia's memory before the dance.
2) A Make Your Mark "lemon-aid" stand was held at Santa's Workshop in November. We handhed out MYM brochures and sold lemon crafts (candles, bath salts, potpourri) and goodies, (lemon bars, tea, bread, cookies). If you are interested in seeing some of our lemon crafts send us an email.
3) Evanston held a fantastic Make Your Mark New Years celebration in 2004, which has been repeated every year since then. Below are some links where you can read more information about that spectacular night.
